Terms of Use

Fauna is made and sold by GrandWorks, a trading name of Mungozone Web Solutions LLP ("GrandWorks", "we", "us"). These terms apply when you use getfauna.com, try Fauna for Mac, or buy a Fauna licence on this website.

If you bought Fauna on the Mac App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to that purchase, alongside these terms where they do not conflict with it.

By installing, trying or buying Fauna you agree to these terms. If you are buying for an organisation, you confirm that you can agree to them on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use Fauna.

Fauna for Mac includes a free trial of 14 days with every feature. The trial is tied to your Mac, so each Mac gets one trial. When it ends, Fauna asks for a licence to keep working. Your library stays on your Mac either way.

When you buy Fauna you receive a licence to install and use it, not ownership of the software. The licence is personal to you, or to your organisation for a team licence, and you may not resell it.

• A Personal Licence is for one person, on up to 3 Macs they use.
• A Team Licence gives one seat per person. Each seat works on one Mac and is assigned to a person by the licence owner. A seat can be reassigned or reset at any time: write to us, or use your account at getfauna.com/account.
• A licence covers Fauna 1.x, including every 1.x update.

You may not copy Fauna except to install it as your licence allows, or try to get around its licence checks, or decompile or modify it except where the law gives you that right.

Prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout, in US dollars unless checkout shows your local currency. A Personal Licence is $59, paid once. Where we are required to collect sales tax or VAT, it is shown at checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe. GrandWorks is the seller and receives the order, not your card details. After payment we email your licence key and a link that activates Fauna on your Mac.

Free updates for all of Fauna 1.x. When Fauna 2.0 arrives it will be a separate purchase, at a discounted price for people who already own 1.x.

We may change, add or remove features in updates. Fauna checks your licence from time to time; if it cannot reach our server it keeps working for up to 14 days, then asks you to reconnect.

Everything you save in Fauna stays yours and stays on your devices, or in your own iCloud or Google Drive if you turn on sync. We do not access it. You are responsible for having the right to save and use what you collect, and for keeping your own backups.

Fauna works with services we do not run, such as iCloud, Google Drive, and the websites you save from. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

Website purchases can be refunded within 14 days, as set out in our Refund Policy. A refunded licence stops working. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple.

We may revoke a licence that was refunded, charged back, bought fraudulently, or shared beyond what it allows. If we do, Fauna asks for a licence again, and your library stays on your Mac.

We work hard to make Fauna reliable, but we provide it as it is, without promising that it will be free of errors or suit every purpose. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

To the extent the law allows, GrandWorks is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Fauna. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

We may update these terms when Fauna or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. Changes do not take away what you have already paid for.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim there.
