Changelog

Fauna 1.3

A steadier Settings window, and a faster way for us to fix iCloud uploads that will not finish.

  • Settings Stays Still While Syncing. The items in the Settings sidebar no longer bob up and down while a library syncs. Only the item that is syncing gently pulses.
  • iCloud Uploads That Will Not Finish Get Reported. If a library keeps showing Uploading to iCloud long after you added your files, Fauna now lets us know by itself, without your file names, so we can fix it. This only happens if you have crash reports switched on. With them off, nothing is sent.

Fauna 1.2

A tidier Licence page and a calmer licence screen.

  • One Place for Your Licence. Your email now sits with your licence under Settings, Licence. Fauna only needs an email so support can find your licence, so the name field is gone.
  • The Licence Screen Behaves Like a Window Again. It can be resized to any size, stays on screen, and keeps its content centred.
  • Gentler When You Are Offline. If Fauna has not been able to check your licence for a while, it now simply asks you to reconnect.

Fauna 1.1

Steadier sync, better saving from the web, and a few things that were getting in the way.

  • Saved Pages Open Properly. Opening a saved page now shows its preview straight away, then the page itself. Posts with video play right inside Fauna.
  • Better Page Previews. Saved pages keep their whole preview image instead of a cropped one, short videos show the video rather than the site's logo, and sites that block automated visitors no longer refuse to save.
  • Pages Saved on iPhone. They now arrive on the Mac as proper saved pages, with their preview.
  • Sync You Can See. The settings gear now turns whenever something is syncing, even with Settings closed.
  • Libraries Keep Syncing When Closed. Every library stays current with iCloud or Google Drive while Fauna is open, not only the one in front of you.
  • Works Offline. Fauna opens and runs normally with no connection, including libraries whose files are still in iCloud.
  • Your Name and Email. Add them under Settings, Licence so support can find your licence. They are sent when you press Update, or as soon as you are back online.
  • Notes, ratings and other details sync more reliably between your Mac and iPhone.
